I remember hearing a long time ago about the Boston Whaler YANKEE VOYAGER model , the only single hull boat ever made by Whaler. Does anyone out there have one? |

I've seen pictures. The boat was also built as the Hi-Liner Gypsy. It's a very sleek looking Hunt design that is legendary here on Cape Cod. Most Gypsy's were sold as I/O but some outboards were produced. Nauset Marine still has the molds and they build a simple center console design with an I/O. I see used Gypsies on the market for $4500 - $7500. I believe Whaler used a procees where they foamed in the floor cavities. Either model is definitely on my A list. |

The Yankee Voyager is still in production. Contact NAUSET MARINE on Cape Cod for information. |

Listen to the radio interview with Nauset Marine for some great historical information! Click the link from the home page of continuouswave to Whaler Radio. There are other interesting interviews as well. |

Jim, The 22 I saw at Nauset was a very basic center console. The Yankee Voyager that Whaler built had a full width cabin and a nice wraparound windshield, kind of like a Bertram 20 Bahia Mar, or a Crosby Canyon Runner. Have you seen a Nauset Yankee Voyager? |

http://www.nausetmarine.com/ Nice web page with several photo galleries. Pretty hulls with classic lines. None listed as the names mentioned above, though. Still, not a Whaler. |

As far as I know, the hull of the NAUSET MARINE boat and the hull of the Whaler YANKEE VOYAGER are from the same mold. I don't know anything about the topsides as currently fitted out by Nauset Marine. I've seen some pictures of a Whaler Yankee Voyager, but I don't recall the precise details. A hyper link to a picture would be good to have. |

Gary, We've talked about the V-21 Yankee Voyager before. There are some good threads discussing it in the archives. The mold that Whaler used for the Yankee Voyager was purchased from Hi-Liner of Connecticut. The mold is now at Nauset Marine on Cape Cod. The Yankee Voyager is NOT still in production. The boats that Nauset Marine produces may be from the same mold but they are not at all like the Yankee Voyager has been described. It is now called the “Nauset Islander”. I was at Nauset Marine briefly last summer and saw some of their Islander models. They are VERY bare bones. I think Dawson Farber of Nauset Marine talks about them appealing more to commercial fishermen and I could see why. I do not think they are much like the Yankee Voyager at all even if they do come from the same mold. I have yet to see an online photo of a Boston Whaler V-21 Yankee Voyager. Anybody have one? |

Uh, this thread is over seven years old. There are LOTS of online images of the Yankee Voyager. We even have the original Yankee Voyager brochure included in the Boston Whaler Catalog Collection. |
