Dan Firth (Cruz Control) and I went down to watch/help Andy put his 22 Center Console Cuddy in the water here at Santa Cruz Harbor. He took us for a spin out on the bay. The harbor mouth is partially shoaled in and a swell is running so the Whaler got to pretend a little going out the mouth. Boat runs beautifully and looks great!! Congratulations Andy; nice boat!

Dave and Dan, thanks for coming down to the harbor and helping me launch. I'd love to return the favor and see your Revenge and Dan's OutrageWe will all have to get together for some salmon fishing and really see how this boat performs. So far, I'm pretty stoked.

Andy's boat is indeed nice! Thanks for the quick spin the other night, Andy. Hey, maybe we should set up a Whaler Salmon day in April or May for the Santa Cruz crowd (and for anyone else that wants to join us on the central coast of California!). I'm planning to go out Friday, April 11, weather permitting.

Dan, a Monterey Bay Whaler Salmon trip sounds like a great idea. Fishing has been a bit slow, but it should pick up. We fished hard for one at 6 lbs. on Saturday (Lover's Point), and one at 14 lbs. on Monday (Soquel Hole). Nice days on the water, but the bite has been far from wide open thus far.
