I have a chance to buy a 15' 1978 Whaler. The price seems fair, but all the research I have done through Continouswave, I have not seen a 78' set up the same as this boat. I have some digital pictures and am looking for someone who can tell me if this Whaler is legit. Is there a way I can run the HIN by Whaler to learn more about this boat? Thanks for the help!!!

Ranger Dan,
Call Chuck Bennett at Boston Whaler and give him the serial number from this boat. The serial number is stenciled in the motor well of Boston Whaler hulls. Chuck can look up your number and tell you when the boat was built, and what model it was built as, and the date and dealer the boat was delivered to.
Chucks Telephone number is (386) 428-0057.

jay - I sent you a JPEG, I will also try to contact Whaler - thanks for the help. I hope to be a proud whaler owner by the end of the week!!!! I have driven them for work for years and hope to now park one in my garage.

I can't ID it for you, however I forwarded your photo on to the "Man On The Mountain" and a couple of other Whaler Gurus. Hopefully we will hear back from them soon.
