There is an 18 foot outrage listed with twin 80 hp mercs for sale in our area. Is that too much weight in the stern for a boat that will be left at a mooring? The boat and motors are late 1980's vintage.

See:

http://continuouswave.com/whaler/cetacea/cetaceaPage34.html I've been in this boat with twin 70's, and static trim was fine, and performance was crisp. Overall, a nice rig.

There is some very detailed discussion of single and twin power on the 18/19 Outrage hull in the Rendezvous report.
