I have two boats now, a 1975 Boston Whaler 11' Sport and a 1940’s 13' wooden project boat. The wooden boat did not come with a trailer.

I have never liked the trailer I have for my Whaler. The tires are to small, now it needs a new light kit, its to long for my boat ect.....

I've had to wooden boat on the trailer a few times so it could be moved, it fits better, all I'd have to do to make it perfect would be to raise the keel rollers a little.

So,
I'm thinking of getting a new trailer for my 11-Sport and using the one I have now with the wooden boat.

My question is,

What kind of trailer would you suggest?
How much should I expect to pay for nice trailer?

Thank you in advance.

Check with the boat yards and marinas in your area for a used one just sitting around.

I'm not sure but a jet ski trailer may fit your boat with a little adjustment and some rollers.

Ryan, Don't waste your time with used unless in perfect condition. You can get a brand new Karavan or equivalent for around $400.00. Most sellers want too much for thier used trailers. This is a very basic trailer "very little mark up". Also I would look at the next size up that would accomodate a 13 ft. in case you buy a larger boat.

I had to overhall the trailer I have now, I don't want to do that again, been there done that and hated it.

I will only buy new, or not at all. For $400 its worth it.

Any suggestions on what make to look for?

Sorry, read post again and saw that you wanted NEW.

Used trailers are ok for me, I use then all the time, but I can weld and do wiring in my shop.

I'm thinking about making an aluminium one for my 21 footer.

No need to say sorry, I've been there many times. ;)

You must be handy if you can make a trailer for a 21footer yourseff!!!
