I found a 89 18 outrage w a 1990 johnson 150 hp,really great cond stern seat full blue canvas and trailer reversible pilot seat is 10,500 to 11,000 good or bad price and do the boat really perform well?i took it for a ride the vee hull cuts through the wave but the stern seems to hit hard?maybe the trim needed to be adjusted .any advice,thanks

Seems like a good price if the engine checks out ok. It has many expensive options, ie stern seat (if original whaler), RPS, full canvas( if Mills, forward shelter,flying top and curtains). Whalers are not known for the most comfortable ride, but they are one of the safest boats out there for its size. The 18 ft Outrage is very easy to trailer, and launch. For it's size, it is also a good offshore boat. They also hold their value. I have owned my 87 18 ft Outrage for 14 years now and have never regretted the purchase. Good luck. |

If the motor is solid, I'd say that boat is priced below market value. If you are serious about buying a Whaler, especially the very popular Outrage 18's, don't wait around. Boats like that at those prices sell very quickly. The canvas is about a $2200 dollar option, the stern seat is another $1500 and the reversable pilot seat will cost you $1200 from Whaler today. |
