I am thinking of replacing my seat with a leaning post. Has anyone found a particular one that fits well and works good? |

I purchased a LP from Birdsall Marine (www.birdsallmarine.com) for Montauk w/ Pate fiberglass tank. Price around $750. Outstanding Quality. |

Are the Birdsall posts aluminum or stainless? Can anyone point me to a picture of their "whale tail" handrail. That 30" sure looks sweet! |

I replaced my RPS with a leaning post a few years ago and love it. I had a local place custom make it. It is the same width as the console and has plenty of room for my 20 gallon Meeller and lifejackets. These are the best picks I have readily available... http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r157/etimothy/04-29-07%20boat%20pics/ DSCF0043.jpg http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r157/etimothy/new%20motor/DSCF0008. jpg Erik |

erik- if you're still around, ever consider a seat back and foot rest for the leaning post? I'm getting ready to do the same, but something a bit more developed for sitting on too. BTW: how heavy is your 90Etec? |

If you are looking for a flip back seat/leaning post, you might try Gander Mountain and search under item Springfield 1042050. This item can be mounted on existing posts which previously held chairs. Unlike most leaning posts, I can use existing post locations and won't need to move with more screw holes. Hope this helps. |
