Jimmy Buffett must have owned a Boston Whaler at one time. He wrote a song with the following lyrics. Can you name the tune and album?

"Yes I own a Whaler boat
it slides across the sea

and some foks say I'm part of it
and I know it's part of me

When I'm feeling solitary
it lets me be alone

and when I want to habitate
it carries me back home."

Buffett owns 3 or 4 websites. I'll see if there is a way to get inquiries through to him and ask.

I was too vague in that last sentence. I meant I'll try to determine what Whaler hull(s) he owned.

Can you imagine what a classic 13' formerly owned by Jimmy Buffet would sell for on Ebay?

The car George Costanza bought was owned by John Voight but he was led to believe it was Jon Voight.

AC, that verse is from "Brahma Fear" on the 1974 album "Living and Dying in 3/4 Time." I bought the album when it came out in 1974, the year after A1A was produced.

I believe that was the album where the publishers accidently spelled Buffett's name with one "t."

I now own a 1974 Outrage 19 that has spent its whole life in Florida. So maybe....

I still believe A1A was Buffetts best Album.

Jimmy was inerviewed by 60 mins. and he said He wanted to buy a Boston Whaler but the bank told him he didn't have a real job(back before he was famous and still lived in the Keys).

I was at Jimmy's concert in Cleveland last year and in the intro to Come Monday he made a comment about that song and how it got him his first Boston Whaler.

After some investigating on 3 websites from his newest CD, I was directed to send my inquiry via e-mail to his retail store in Key West. A day later I received a response from someone who said they had forwarded my inquiry on up the chain. Hopefully I'll get a response that will indicate what hull(s) he owned.

My local dealer claims they sold a 1998 Anniversary Edition 13' Classic to Jerry Seinfeld. This comment was made when they sold me a trailer for the same boat I had.

Maybe he tows it behind one of his many Porsches!

Rumor has it that Mr. Buffett keeps a place here in New Orleans. I'm not sure of that, but he is here quite a bit. Last year, he took final delivery of his new Rybovich (one of the first fiberglass Riboviches ever made) here at a friends boatyard. Rybovich sent it down to be completed (brightwork and such) by my buddy.
