Help the ecology and the economy when you die - Turn yourself into a dive attraction.

My daughter always says "Eeeyoooo" when she sees me cleaning a big salmon, and demands to know "how can I kill such a beautiful creature?" Now this doesn't keep her from enjoying salmon fillets for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner, especially grilled her favorite way with soy sauce and a crystallized ginger crust, but I still answer her like this:

--Katie, my charming girl, when and if I die (a great many years from now to be sure), my pal and salt water fishing mentor George Castagnola is going to take my ashes out in his charter boat at the height of the season, when the Chinook salmon are jumping into the boat, and he's gonna pause briefly--leaving his clients' lines in the water-- think a friendly thought or two, dump my mortal remains into a boiling school of baitfish or a ball of krill, and then troll away from what's left of your dad. The smallest Pacific Ocean critters will absorb some of the minerals from my ashes; bigger critters will eat the littler ones; and eventually a huge king salmon will gobble up a nice sardine or anchovie stuffed with my mineral essence, thus getting revenge for all his finny relatives I've caught and we have eaten over the decades. It's all a great oneness...

So no commercialized dive attraction for my remains, Blue Max. In fact, you might be the one to catch and eat that big salmon with me inside, you damned cannibal! And yeah, loafer, I think I'll join you.

Tony
