I tested the 230 Dauntless at Gull lake MI. The conditions were 1 foot or less light winds,3 adults on board, 225HP verado with no trim tabs, T-Top.
I tried to go in other boats wakes and my own to simulate rough conditions, it handled everything I tried to simulate. This boat want's to be on plane, slowing down below 15 MPH a very slight throttle push and it's there, never any visibility issues. Fantastic response.

Although I was surprised that the top speed strugled to reach 40 MPH. The whaler site show's 49 with a boat that has no T-Top and the 250HP verado test boat goes over 50MPH with a fiberglass T-Top. Im wondering if there is a drag issue and the boatwith T-Top may perform better with the 250 HP engine.

I will test the 230 again at another dealer with the 250HP with trim tabs on lake Mich. Wondering how it will handle bigger chop.

I would think that a T-top might cost you 4-5 mph top in performance, not 10.
