New to forum. I am looking to purchase a 1995 Dauntless 17 dual console with a 115 Evinrude. I really wanted a center console for fishing but not much seating for family on center console. Will have to take family a few times a month. Is there enough room for 3 adults to fish. Im figuring 1 on bow and 2 in rear. Not sure if there is enough room room to fish behind captain chairs. I have not seen the boat yet. I saw pics on this website that were very helpful. Thanks for any help

I had a 16 Dauntless, and there was enough room for 3 comfortably, but 4 would be a push... even with the larger boat... |

I think the Dauntless 17 Dual Console is one the most underated boats in Whaler history. Very wide, beam is 7' (a classic Montauk is 6'2") and very comfortable for 6 or 7. A full 17' long. Easy to clean. Plenty of room for 3 to fish. And the stern in-floor storage would be great for fish. Lots of storage, a smooth ride and the walk-through windshield is great access to the huge bow seating area. It's a sleeper - if the price is right, buy it! |

I have a '96 DA 17 with 125 hp merc 2 stroke. I fish with 3 adults and 1 kid regularly. Any more than that will be tight. Its a fine boat also for tubing and just simply bummimg around the lake. Its easy to trailer and best of all fits in my garage. The stern is somewhat heavy therefore may tend to porpoise if not trimmed properly. I added a doel fin and this helps. Good luck. |
