I am planning on placing my 255 conquest in a slip. I do not want to paint the bottom of the beautiful boat which will forever destroy the beauty of the boat. Have any of you experienced the "bottom liner" and what are your recommendations. The boat will be in the Pacific. I have a trailer but I want the convenience of a "floating condo".
Is there a bottom paint that is not unattractive for a white boat?

I thought Black was a given on Whalers.

If you are concerned about "will forever destroy the beauty of the boat" then you need to paint the bottom!

The "shark white" bottom paints are pretty good, slight gray color over time, but it prevents the growth that "will forever destroy the beauty of the boat".

White bottom paint can be tinted to exactly match the color of your hull:

bill,
I used to keep my 28' Salty Dog in a slip at Dana Point in a "bottom liner" and it kept the bottom as slick as a new baby's butt. Using pool chemicals to keep the critters from forming on the hull may not be legal any more, this was many years ago.

I think a floating boat lift like a Hydrohoist or similar device is a better solution. There are several of these in my harbor, and the boats on them look pristine with no antifouling paint on their hulls.
