Is this a crack? What could be causing this?

That is crack for sure! The owner has to be smoking it!

I'll bet that boat was shortened.

The first time I looked at this photo I was impressed.

That beat up little Whaler is properly holding up two jet skis, a Mercury outboard and apparently a functional toilet.

And who shall we say uses that "functional toilet"?

The "Bold and Proud"

I can think of a couple instances in my life I would have jumped on it!

Is it bad that the first thing I noticed was the backwards decal?

When my brother in law worked as a log boom man for Simpson Timber Company on the Shelton waterfront during the late 70's, the boom foreman's skiff was a 13 foot Sport. That boat worked hard and was never babied.

The boat linked to above is in pretty nice shape compared to that old boom skiff when it was retired. When the old Sport was taken out of service, large portions of the exterior side of the gunwhales were missing fiberglass - just exposed foam visible.

The old boat was bought at auction by a friend of mine. He bondo-ed up the hull and used it salmon fishing for years and his younger brother used it for years after he was done with it.

They are tough boats.

DeeVee,

There is a 13 that pushes a small pile driver rig around in my neighborhood (South Jersey) that fits that description. Makes the one in the pic look like a gem. Tough boats indeed.

Truely a thing of beauty. Probably another 20 years in her.
Gotta love the flush toilet.

Not surprising to see the Jet Skis moored in the outhouse. Also not surprising that the Jet Ski owner did not expect them to remain floating without the help of the Whaler.
