expanding ...... http://www.witn.com/edgecombeandnashcounty/headlines/41042262.html A national manufacturer of twin-hull boats plans to expand its North Carolina operations by investing nearly $2.7 million and creating 120 jobs. A statement from Gov. Beverly Perdue's office Tuesday said HC Composites plans to create the jobs over the next three years at its headquarters in Tarboro, where it currently employs 60 people. HC Composites does business as World Cat and manufactures a variety of catamaran fishing boats in Tarboro. The company is purchasing Glacier Bay Catamarans of Seattle, which makes twin-hull cruising boats. HC Composites plans to consolidate operations by relocating the Glacier Bay facility to Tarboro. The company received a $130,000 state grant from the One North Carolina Fund to help support the project. Tom |

That sure is good news. Starting a business during tough times is the true test of courage. I've never been on a Glacier Bay but have seen them in rough water, fishing out of Chesapeake Bay. The boat looked very stable with all other conventional boats pitching and rolling wildly. I hope they do well and can compete and win lots of loyal customers. |

This may be good news for NC but doesn't sound too good for the workers at the plant that will close. "HC Composites plans to consolidate operations by relocating the Glacier Bay facility to Tarboro." |

Those who have adult leadership survive ..... at least the Glacier Bay name lives on. |

It takes more than adult leadership to survive when businesses lose huge percentages of their business overnight. |

Notg really ... . we have teo dealers in my neck of the woods who saw it coming, reduced inventory, priced accordingly, and pay their bills by offering affordable as well as top notch service. Not rocket scientist stuff as some would have you believe. More common sense something many lack. |
