In addition to showing a picture of a Boston Whaler rigged as a survey vessel, the article itself looks quite interesting.

It looks more like they're set up to electrocute fish!

I have been out on the water when I could have used the netting to keep the flys and bugs off.

What a Very Pretty Lady!
She looks like a modern day Gal though with all the pins and rings piercing her flesh..
Still looking inviting to me nevertheless..

There is nothing like a classic 21 with twin engines.

But whose are they? They look like Evinrude dark blue, but the shape looks 4-stroke.

Just noticed Nick had the same engine on his "Newtauk". So that would make these engines re-badged Evinrude/Suzuki 4-strokes, from several years ago.

Nice setup but I doubt very much if the Whaler is a Government boat due to the State tags on the side.
Note the temporary Honda gen sets, antenna's and outrigger.
My bet is the boat was subcontracted to tow the sonar unit for the Survey Team.

The Skipper looks pretty intense, he is probably completely focused on running a straight course (been there, done that), the twins make it easier to do this...the sonar unit (like a torpedo) pulls pretty hard.

Thx for posting.

Twin 359lb 70hp Evinzuki engines. I thought about that on my 19 but figured 700+ on a 30 year old transom was a bad idea, I guess not.

Enlarging the photo, they appear to be Yamaha's, couldn't discern the HP.

Like TOHSGIB said they are Evinrude 4 strokes. Which were rebadged Suzukis. Either 50 or 70 Hp

Look like 1999-2001 70hp Evinzukis.
