Tom G and I took her out this afternoon - first chance all year, first time at the helm. and after being flipped out about the motor (no problem) and not finding the time. She is an incredible boat - as the previous owner said "She's Just Seventeen..." Thanks to all you guys who posted on my thread about my concerns about the Johnson 115. It ran beautifully. It's going to be a great summer. Thanks Casco, Buckda, Nick, Jeff

tow - Interesting question - I talked that over with the previous owner. He ran her on Lake Erie, lives near Toledo. right next to an amazing fishery lots of interesting places to run boats. Lake Erie is the shallowest of the Great Lakes like you can go out 15 miles and still have 10 feet of water. In any case, when the storms blow up (midwest thunderstorm cells) Erie can get real nasty real fast. No big deal except the wave frequency is such that big waves, close together and not good for lots of boats. He told me he'd be out with the OR 17 and the 30 footers would be going in, he'd be heading out. As I recall the story someone said something to him once about that OR 17 being awesome in nasty water and he replied - "Well, She's Just Seventeen...." you know what I mean? So for him that was kind of her name like the Beatles song. We're going to take it seriously and give her a proper name whether its what the other dude called it or something else. I gotta get some helm time and then we'll see. That boat has Columbia River written all over it - I can see towing up and down 84, easy launch and ride super smooth. She's Just Seventeen..... |

She's not almost 17, or past 17, she's just...17. |

If she's an Outrage 17 II, she's 17'6". Welcome to the club, Pete. I love mine. She's a great rough water boat, but not invincible by any means. Roy |

Classic Outrage 17, 1995, last Bob Doherty boat someone told me. Not the new style. We've had her in Spring Lake twice and briefly in Lake Mich the other evening. |

Many Congrates,This is one of the nicest 17 ft ever build ! It light, strong, very easey to tow so you get it more often. But it can also handle really rough water. We have one early model, with no quarterseats but the rear deck, and we really like the boat a lot. We have a Yamaha F115 on it and this makes her fly 43 Mph on Gps. Our hull is hinnumber 90040, I know of a vieuw others on WhalerCentral and here who have one similar, but there were not so maky buil, it was an relative expensive boat for the size. Here in Europe theire really rear and hard to get, I woul advice to hold on to her. |

Glad to hear you're enjoying the Outrage Pete! I finally had a chance to get mine out on the water a couple times this year. I nearly forgot how much I enjoy that boat! - Chris |
