Everything Jim or Buckda or any of you who have been to Lockeman's in Detroit is exactly correct. I spent a couple of hours there yesterday testing out GPS/Sonar combo units. Dave and the crew were incredibly accommodating and went the extra mile. I have screwed around with this decision for quite awhile now, happened to be in Detroit area two days this week and yesterday morning it occurred to me to give Dave a call to see if he was a Raymarine dealer and they are.

In any case, I was under the gun by Skipper Ellen and half the fam, inlaws and outlaws to rig the Outrage for serious use this weekend and all next week.

Dave set up the comparison demo and after some time I was ready to purchase. During the time Dave, his son and other staff briefed my on the 94 Johnson 115 (oldest Johnson dealer in Mich) and much more - old fashioned, solid customer service above and beyond. Unfortunately, they only had my model with pre-loaded inland lake chars and the inland lakes and rivers (wide scan) transducer which is awesome but not optimum for Lake Michigan and possible trips to real deep water. Having to get one rigged up last minute I had to make a decision plus I am ~180 miles from his shop.

If you need Whaler or OB service, want to repower with an ETEC or whatever go see Dave in Detroit. Like Sue Loden in Wisconsin they are incredible.

No question if we repower next year - Dave will do it.

Finally, a visit to Detroit should absolutely include a trip to Lockeman's. You will also see first hand the industrial section of Detroit and tons of history too.
