Yesterday afternoon while fishing at Eagle Bluff (Cypress Island) along comes this beautiful 30-31 ft Whaler and I don't have a camera. This thing is about 10 ft wide and is supporting (4) FOUR 250 Mercury Verado engines. It sat perfect in the water. It was skipper by a guy in his early 40's, with wife and sibling aboard. I could not afford the fuel for this thing much less own it but it was truly a dream boat. I would suspect it would cost at least $250,000.

Did you catch anything?I will be out today, running to the county dock in Obstruction Pass. Maybe the big Whaler will be out again and I always have my camera. John |

Yes, I caught a 21# on Thursday and an 11# on Friday. My friend had 2 around 19# inside Obstruction, but that was 3 days of fishing. Definitely not as good as last years opener, but the are a few fish around. |

Are you sure it was a Whaler? Even the largest Whalers--the Conquest 345 and the Outrage 370 are outfited with 3 Verados. |

I did not see the big Whaler on my outing yesterday. The fishing reports have been conflicting, really good and not as good as last year. John |

John you correct there, not as good. My buddy and his grandson fish Wed through Sunday in that area, they did manage to bring home 2-19's, 1-21 and 1 26#. They lost a couple due to chafed line and bad knots. I will be back out maybe tomorrow and again on Thursday for sure. |
