macgurvey	posted 07-05-2009 10:39 AM ET (US)         I boat mainly in the Atlantic Beach / Emerald Isle area of NC and was looking to get a boat towing membership at either Seatow or Boat US. Don't want to get into company bashing or promotion, but was wondering if anyone had a suggestion on the preferred service in this area of NC? Thanks
bluewaterpirate	posted 07-05-2009 11:19 AM ET (US)             I've used SeaTow since 2000 and have been very happy with all their services. Before leaving the inlet I always file and float plan with them, check my radios, and listen to their latest info on the offshore fishing grounds. In 2004, I saw them go 30 miles to sea to tow a boater who had broken down in very snooty conditions .... 10 - 12 foot seas. The sea tow captain was awarded a Coast Guard citation for his boat handling skills and bravery. They are always ready to assist when needed. Tom
