My marina mechanics are taking samples of fuel from boats that have fuel related problems. The are comparing each sample and trying to identify Fuel, water and other substances. Right now they have six different samples. Three have unidentified elements in the samples. They are trying to determine which customers used fuel stabilizers or products that were marketed to help fuel stay stabil. What they have determined thus far is that there is no product on the market that can reverse the negative effects of ethanol fuel problems (ie water seperation). Secondly they they are starting to see that fuel additives marketed to stabilize fuel from the negative effects of ethanol fuels are not working as well and infact are showing up as the third contaminant. I am leaning toward the fact that fuel additive are not working.
