I was at the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton NY yesterday. There was a perfect [1964 or 1965] Nauset tied up at the dock outside. It had been recently donated to the Museum. SCRIMSHAW was the name carved in the wood panel on the side of the console. The museum is taking older fiberglass boats now. There is even a small exhibit for them now.

Great place to see if you have never been there.

Do you recall what it had for power?

I have a [1969] Nauset with an 85-HP (not 55-HP) Bearcat on it. Now that's a museum piece! Dick Fisher only made 587 [85-HP BEARCAT outboard engines] in 1969 and 1970. Many of them have gone the way of being converted back into the sports car configuration. The Coventry Climax FWB is an almost bullet proof motor. Can't ever see myself putting it in a museum.
