How long did Whaler produce the 22 cuddy? And were there any issues or problems with that design? I am interrested in a mid-1980's model. Thanks, Russ

Which 22' model with a cuddy are you asking about? There was:

V-22 Revenge / 22 Revenge
22 Revenge Walk through
22 Revenge Cuddy
22 Outrage Cuddy

I believe it is a Revenge 22 cuddy, it has the added bow cap to the 22 open hull style.

I'm sorry, it is a 22 Outrage Cuddy with the front cap.
The hull is the same general style that they still use for the commercial division.

The 22 Outrage Cuddy was produced from 1980 to 1993. You will find this information and the specifications for the model in the reference section of this site:

I may be biased because I recently purchased one, but I consider it a great design. I think it is a great compromise for those who like a center console, but still want the use of a small cuddy.

If you search the archives of this site you will find many articles regarding this model. Page 48 of Cetacea has several pictures of the model.

Many people prefer the closed transom version of the 22 foot hull. For those with the notched transom, the full width splashwell design of the latter years (1989 and newer) is considered superior to that of the earlier years of production.

Even though several Boston Whaler 22-foot Cuddy models have been left alone together all winter in heated indoor storage facilities, there has never been any issue from those boats getting together like that.

Just wanted to say THANKS for the info...
I bought a 89 22 cuddy, it needs a little TLC
but rides great & has lot's of room.
I will be repowering her later this year as
the 130 Honda, while Quiet, is not enough HP.
Thanks, Russ
