We've been at Ocracoke for the last few days and ventured offshore today. The weather closed out quickly and we got caught in a TS in the way in. My wife was shotting video of the storm and just by chance had the camera pointed the spot of impact.

Here's the video ...... I slow the video down so you could get a better perspective of the strike.

Tom,

I'm with you. I like to be tied up at the dock when that stuff rolls in. Unfortunately, there's a lot of lightning where I live. Florida is the lightning capital of the world and I live in Brevard County which has the most lighting in Florida.

Needless to say, I have a tremendous respect for the weather whenever I'm out on the water. Especially since I have 2 large lightning rods (aka outriggers) on my boat.
