McGuire's #7 Glaze followed by McGuire's Yellow wax does wonders on most boats. The use of a Porter Cable or Bosch random orbital sander equipped with foam polishing pads makes it quick work.

I just used Starbrite vinyl cleaner. Nothing else even comes close. It is the best stuff I have ever used. It takes the shine off a bit, but if you use a vinyl protectant after, it shines back up if you like it to shine, that is. I almost give up thinking I could get my vinyl clean until used this stuff. I was sincerely amazed by the results.

Come to think of it though, without sounding like a Starbrite rep., I have come to really like all the Starbrite products I have used thus far.

I also used the Starbrite hull cleaning product to clean off a light brown stain that has been on my hull, from the water line down, for two years. The stain came from leaving my boat in the water for a few days in Tahoe Keys (Lake Tahoe, CA)and I thought it would never come off.

I also like "Flitz" for the stainless steel polishing and "Woody Wax" works great for anodized aluminum.

For gelcoat surfaces I have had great luck with Meguiars marine products. Their color restorers and polish bring the finish back like new, especially if you use an orbital buffer. I'm sure other brands work just as well.

One other product I found by accident is worth noting:
It is "Simoniz Advanced formula Self Drying Car Wash" with UV protection. I used it once because it was left in my garage by my nephew who used to wash his car at my house. It supposedly has UV protection, doesn’t strip wax and self dries without spotting. In reality though, you still need to towel dry a bit, but it does clean the boat well, and what I like most, is it leaves the finish very clean and shiny like it was just waxed. I now tend to believe the claims about not striping wax and having UV protection because I used this stuff many times now and the boat continues to look like it is just waxed.

MY JOB IS TO PROTECT MY OWNERS INVESTMENT. Brite work polished once a week, aluminum every 2 weeks, fiberglass every 3 weeks. I trust Collonite metal wax for the brite, Collonite insulator wax for the aluminum, and any good fiberglass wax w/ uv blockers, 3m products are our choice for the fiberglass. Regular maintenance is the key. It's like cutting a big yard. Once finished it's time to start again. But............it shows.Good Luck!
