I was watching the 'Supersize' episode over the weekend, and one of their myths involved skiing behind a cruiseliner. They actually succeeded in doing this by towing the skier up behind the giant cruise ship where he grabbed a rope that was already out behind the ship, and then transferring over to it from the 'chase' boat.
The boat they were using as the chase/tow vehicle looked to be a heavily modified classic Whaler hull, I'm guessing an Outrage. It has some kind of elaborate t-top setup with rigging for skiers and a 'barefoot pole' off to one side. When I saw it in the show there were no discernible logos on the hull, and it definitely looks like a Whaler to me. About 23 seconds in they show the bow of the tow boat fairly clearly.
Can anyone confirm exactly what it is?

It's an Outrage 22.
The Standard Console windscreen is missing.

And it was an 1989 or later as it had a full width splash well.
The have had whalers in at least two other episodes as well. 1 Skiing behind a rowing skull. 2 was driving a boat that was still attached to a trailer.

Speaking of water skiing behind big boats...
Lake Express' insurance company was very displeased when they conducted this publicity stunt a few years ago without notifying them first.

That Youtube stunt rocks. Can see how the ins company had a field day with it. Very funny though.
