New here, so, if in the wrong place, please redirect:
Have recently purchase an older tin boat, the motor is a 5.5hp Johnson, no serial numbers on plates to be found, a small (Quarter size, shiny circle, located on the botton side of engine has the following number: J2442187.
Does this number indicate anything ? Have tried to match it from computer motor lists, NO info there.

5.5hp is old...pre 70's.

Dave, what do you mean "2002"? All of the posts in that thread were dated today. Were you looking at registration dates?
