My deepest respect and thanks to the USMC. And thanks Dave for bringing this up.

But on the subject - I cherish the service of a very close friend - USMC (early 50's) and retired as a chaplain from the Navy. His son - USMC - and retired - and now consulting for the government as a Russian helicopter expert. And then his brother - retired from the Air Force, asked to head up a intelligenct operation - and retired (for real) having served 44 years and 7 months. Between the three of them - over 84 + years of service.

Me? - U.S. Army - early 50's. ----- Jerry/Idaho

I did not serve, but I very greatly appreciate those of you who did or are still serving! Thank you!

Hey David,

Don't forget that it's Ronald Reagan's birthday today as well. He'd be 101 years old if he were still with us. Ronnie played the roles of all kinds of servicemen, including commander-in-chief, during his acting career, mostly in B-grade movies. It's also Zsa Zsa Gabor's B-day...maybe she starred opposite Ronnie way back when.

Semper Fi.

Tony

P.S. Anybody know the birthday of the first Boston Whaler?

This is a revival of an old thread; the Marine Corps birthday is in November.
