As a trivia comment to the long tread about the new Yamaha four-stroke V6 outboards: it seems that the previous generation of Yamaha four-stroke V6 outboards are not dead, they will live on as Selva outboards! See www.selvamarine.com/product_lines.php?g=motori&f=4t for more information. (I like the look with the Selva colors! Bella!) -Seb PS: It shall be interesting to compare prices at the next Helsinki International Boat Show. (New Yamaha V6 vs. new Selva V6.) |

If you look in the upper RH corner there is a UK flag, point and click for English. Many international and EU websites have a similar feature. |

Thanks for the tip. I also see that Selva Maroine sells DFI 2 strokes in 40 HP, 50 HP, 60 HP and 70 HP models. I wonder who makes those? |

I would have guessed Tohatsu but the Selva specifications don't match Tohatsu. My guess is that the 2-strokes are a Selva outboard design using Orbital's DFI technology. |

The DFI technology used by Selva is actually an in-house design. It's a low pressure system with an inlet valve in the cylinder head, but still two-stroke, sorry to see that Selva no longer has any presentation of the system on the web pages! I'll take a look to see if I can find some older material... Anyway, the Selva DFI outboards have not been a success, personally (based on what has been written about them) I would not recommend one (unless the price was very, very low). -Seb |
