If I were shopping for a trailer for your boat, I'd get:

--float on trailer
--tandem axle trailer
--radial tires, Goodyear Marathon, plus spare
--aluminum wheels
--electric winch
--LED DOT approved lights
--guide posts
--brakes on all four wheels
--Kodiak disc brakes
--hydraulic brakes
--electric over hydraulic brake actuator
--in-cab brake controller

It'll probably cost more than the boat.

Hi Jim,

I'm interested in your suggestion for a tandem axle on a trailer. My trailer is currently a tandem axle and I find it very hard to back into tight quarters and near immposible to muscle it by hand at an angle. With the tandem axle is does not turn very sharply. Other than redundancy with multiple tires on each side I don't see the benefit as long as the trailer is rated for the appropriate weight carrying ability. Is there something I'm missing? I'm considering buying a new aluminum trailer and am leaning toward a single axle for my 1973 19' Outrage.
