Boston Whaler announced the introduction of the largest Whaler made, 370 Justice. See the release from Trade Only: http://www.tradeonlytoday.com/home/ 503402-largest-boston-whaler-model-unveiled

It appears that the only "classic" hulls left for purchase are the 22, 25 and 27 ft. hulls in Commercial format. It seems like these too may shortly fall by the wayside.

Just how is it larger than the 370 Outrage?

Good question! The specs are exact to the Outrage.

Heavier?! That's my guess. In shipbuilding, "Bigger" generally equates to tonnage instead of spatial dimensions, right?

Largest, No. Longest, Yes.

The 36' Defiance was 36' long x 13' wide covering a sqft area of 468sqft. The 36' Defiance weighed in at 19,000 lbs PLUS

The 370 Justice (Outrage) is 37.5' long x 11.5' wide covering a sqft area of 431.25sqft. The 370 Justice weighs in at 13,000 lbs.

If your agency needs one of these, isn't it probably time to call in the Navy?

Dave, in shipbuilding "tonnage" refers to cargo carrying capacity, i.e., more akin to a measure of volume, and not to the weight of the vessel. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tonnage . I doubt that Boston Whaler releases, or even knows, the tonnage ratings of the boats it manufactures.

Whatever happened to the 36' Defiance? If memeory serves me rightly, it was about 39' feet with the pulpit, and had Caterpillar diesels.

I'm surprised that boat wasn't a winner, it looked like a very viable alternative to the Cabo's and other pocket sportfishers in the market.

Like the old 31 Whaler, it just didn't catch on?

"I doubt that Boston Whaler releases, or even knows, the tonnage ratings of the boats it manufactures."

huh? you are kidding right. That is like saying a car manufacturer does not know the center of gravity of the vehicle it builds.
