I've got a larg boat but am looking for a smaller boat for bay fishing and for the kids to use for skiing in the Bay. I would appreciate those familure with these to give me the pros & cons for these purposes. Thanks.

If you're talking about a handful of kids I would recommend the Montauk. More room for kids, foot for foot than the others. More stable. Fairly easy boarding from the water. The others being the 19 Nantucket and the 18 Dauntless vs the 19 Montauk. If the 19 Montauk is your choice I would go for the 150 HP Verado power over the alternatives.

I'm thinking the kids might have the most fun in a bow rider, they all love to sit up front in the bow area and there's a ton of seating throughout.

Consider the 96-97 Dauntless 20" and the 98-99 Ventura 20". They're actually identical boats, just different names.

The 18 & 21 Venturas are very versatile as well, fun fun boats!

I guess I as a bit hasty. . . . actually, my main reason isfor fishing in Bay but could also also use for skiing the smaller kids. .. .I wondered just how these different boats were outfitted for fishing. Also, I keep seeing these 115hps on the 19ft boats. . this seems a bit underpowered. . .???

If you're talking about a 190 Montauk with 115 HP, there are several members of this forum with that combo and they are mostly satisfied. The fact that Boston Whaler is now offering 150 HP tells me that 115 HP was too small for many buyers. I've tested a 190 Montauk with a 115 HP Veradito with two guys on board and I was really surprised how quickly it planed. Load it up with kids and try to ski--I don't think you'd like it.

Now the Nantucket and 18 Dauntless have a V type bottom and are a lot heavier. I think the performance would appeal to even fewer people, but I'm sure there are a few fishermen who fish alone or with a buddy and don't care about performance who would be satisfied.

I think any of these with a 115 HP outboard would be harder to resell at today's gasoline prices.
