The answer somewhat depends on your needs. What do you need serviced? Lindenhurst Outboard is also known on the internet as the Outboard Wizard. I've used them for lower unit rebuilds but mostly just purchase parts from them. Ralph (the owner) can be a good source of info if you can catch him at the right time. The mechanics rotate over the years, some are better than others, and you will want to have a senior mechanic looking over the work that is performed (sometimes by a junior guy). A big gripe I have with these guys is that they are not on the water and I don't have the room to keep a trailer readily available. For my 90 E-Tec I've only used the dealer I purchased from: Outboard Service Corp. on Woodcleft Ave. in Freeport. This is partially because I don't trailer my boat these days (Lindy Outboard is not on the water) and partially because I have gotten great service from Mike and his crew whenever I needed them. These guys are a full service yard and have a steady crew as well as being family owned (the first motor my family purchased from them was back in 1969 and it was Mike's dad that sold it to us; in total I have purchased 5 motors from them). They rigged my 250 E-Tec that I purchased elsewhere and did a nice job as well as taking good care of me when my 90 had multiple warranty issues.
Suffolk Marine in Babylon would not be one of my choices for service; I have never had a good feeling at their counter and have two neighbors with Yamahas that do not not like them for various reasons.
