I've recently received an email from a person interested in purchasing my 1991 Outrage 19. He lives in Hawaii and is trying to figure out shipping options. Does anyone have any information on this? Thanks. |

Contact Matson at http://www.matson.com/ An automobile from California to Honolulu is about $1000.00 I do not know what a boat costs. Matson leaves from Long Beach CA, Oakland CA or Seattle WA. I see boats and cars being loaded all the time. If you are not near one of those ports the customer service center rep will help you to arrange transportation to the port. If your buyer lives on one of the neighbor islands (Hawaii, Maui or Kauai) the rep can help arrange that too. Your buyer should be very familiar with Matson. |

Where are you located? When I bought my Whaler, it was trucked from Florida to Oregon, then put on a Sause Brothers barge to Hawaii. I don't know what it cost because that was all built into the sales price and the transportation was arranged by the local dealer I bought the Whaler from. You can get a shipping quote from Sause: I'm certain that particular route and method to get a Whaler here was the most economical as I'm sure the dealer would've wanted to maximize his profit ;). Good luck! |

PashaHawaii.com They ship out of San Diego: Great rates and service. Just compare with Matson (Oakland) and see if the haul from CM is worth the savings. |

Good starts, thanks guys. I'm located in Marin County, about 15 minutes north of San Francisco. |

For shipping options from California to Hawaii, the options for truck and rail are not good. For an object the size of a 1991 Boston Whaler OUTRAGE 19 the option of air shipment would be very expensive. I'd say your only option is by ship. |

Phooey. I was hoping the underwater tunnel from California to Hawaii was one of the 'Shovel Ready' projects from the stimulus program. |

Call Mattson in Oakland for a qupte. I think Mattson ships to Oahu 3 times a week. Then call shipping brokers which act like a Priceline. Do not indicate that you need that you have to ship the boat. Make sure you give them the measurement from the tip of the tongue to the props. My buddy was quoted from $900-1500 to ship a Honda Civic 2 door coupe. |

My buddy got the quote last November. He found the shipping brokers out of Florida were he cheapest price. If you say that the boat has to get there next week, youwill pay a higher rate..... |

Littleblue: The person purchasing your boat has no sense of adventure, He could put about 1400 gallons of gas in the boat(my have to tow a barge), and follow a crusie ship out of LA or San Diego to Hawaii. Just pick a nice day for the weather... |

$1000? Amazing! And infuriating. Back in January, I tried to buy a 15' fastboat, hull only, no riggng. It weighed probably 350 lbs, and was on a brand new, short-neck galvanized trailer. It was in Long Island, NY, and I'm in southern Cal. After a bunch of haggling I was able to get someone down to $1700... waaay too expensive. I lost out on the sale. If I had been able to get $1000 for the shipping I would have been all over it. Oh, I offered to meet the shipper anywhere in socal or Arizona, as to derfray the cost of door-to-door service. It made no difference. :( -Peter |

I sold my 22 to a gent from Hawaii. I don't know any of the details, other than that he said far and away the cheapest way to ship a boat to Hawaii was as deck cargo on a fuel barge, and that they leave from Oregon. |

I got quotes from both Matson and Pasha for shipping a Montauk to Hawaii. Pasha in San Diego was the better price at around $3200.00 |
