I heard good things about [many] waxes. [Solicits advice on waxes.] |

I've used Collinite Fleetwax for a few years. It doesn't buff up as bright as some other waxes, but is very durable. I have a slip-kept sailboat that is in the water year-round and twice a year is enough with Collinite, at least as far as basic protection goes. For a shiny finish maybe once every couple months would do. I haven't tried Yacht Brite. |

I use Collinite Fleet Wax paste. Still working with the first bottle I bought six years ago. I guess I don't wax often enough. |

Colinite Fleet Wax has served us well. Our boats have always been waxed in January and June. Both the Whalers and Pursuits are/were used once or twice a week year 'round in both fresh and salt water. I have found over the years that a good coat of wax makes cleaning scum/waterline fish blood and salt a great deal easier. To reap the benefits you must use the product however. A bottle lasts about 3 good coats inside and out on the Montauk 170. |

Another vote for Collonite Fleet Wax, the only complaint about it is the bottle of their No. 925 was $17.30 at the local marine store this weekend. |

I am a fan of the 3M line of products. |

I have switched to Megiars premium wax at the advice of a fellow CW member. I was a vast improvement over 3M wax I had been using. I find it to be much brighter finish, and very easy to wax on (or at least wipe down the residue). However if you want a tougher, longer lasting wax, paste waxes are the way to go. Collinite paste has been a good one for me in the past, but I don't use it any more. |

I just tried 3M liquid wax (marine) w/ Scotchguard after hearing some favorable reviews, some even switching to it after using Collinite. Looks great, easy to apply/remove, but time will be the real test. |

From the advice I took from this web site a couple years back I wash with any boat soap, then use 3M Finesse-It II Finishing Material, then wax with Collonite Fleet Wax No. 925. Mirror finish! |

There appears to be some confusion in this thread regarding the Collinite Wax products. Collinite No. 925 is "Fiberglass Boat Wax" which is pure carnauba wax. Collinite No. 870 is liquid "Fleetwax" which carnauba wax plus ploymers. And Collinite No. 885 is the "Fleetwax" paste. See: http://www.collinitemarine.com/products.htm . I use No. 925 Fiberglass Boat Wax. It looks great when it's done, but it is not the most durable wax. |

Use the 920 cleaner then the 885 paste wax then consider it a proper job. Con |
