Would a telescopic boat ladder work on a dock? Trying to keep the little ones from getting scrapped by barnicles. This would be used at a public marina slip so I would like to keep it low profile. |

I have the exact ladder on my floating dock. Works great but you have to find a way to tie it off on top to keep it out of the water. |

I have one like this on my dock. Great for emergencies. It lays flat and is easy to deploy. The one drawback is that it doesn't look like a ladder when it folded and flipped up so may not be recognized by someone in a panic who is looking for a way out of the water. I, however, know it's there and it is a source of comfort to me and others. |

Can you just mount it on your boat? Granted, the rugrats will then be in and out of your rig but at least the ladder won't be visible as "public property". |

You didn't say what the ladder would be used for. If it's so that children can swim at the marina, that's not a good idea. See: http://www.highport.com/electricalHazard.php If it's for getting from the dock to the boat, or from the boat to the dock (and not for swimming), I would think that you'd want something with a handrail on it. |
