I`m not very knowlegeable about post classic Whalers but while pulling my `61 13 footer into the ramp today at Cedar Key, Fl. another Whaler Pulled in beside me. I assumed it was a newer 17` Outrage or Montauk, great looking boat. While I left my boat to retrieve my trailer, my girlfriend talked to the owner who told her his boat was a 1999 14 footer built for only two years. She said the decal on the side read Whaler 14. The boat was gone when I returned with my trailer. I think it had a 60 hp motor on it. Its hard to believe that this boat I thought was a 17, was only 14 foot long, and I never heard of this model. What is the story on this boat. It had a European style transom.

It was likely a 14' Dauntless. They were only built in 1999 and 2000 I think and looks big for a 14' Boat.

I get it all the time. "That's 14 feet? It looks a lot bigger."

Forgot to add. It most likely was a Dauntless 14 made in 1999 and 2000. Mine is a 1999 with a 2000 75 HP Mercury 2 stroke.
