I have a 13' standard. I've found a 2005 25hp Yamaha 4 stroke but it's set up for remote steering, and I'd want to convert it to tiller steering. Is this very hard to do? Could I just go to my friendly Yamaha dealer and he'd have a kit for it? Thanks |

Found this in another forum. The part # should be, 65W-W0086-Z0-4D around $300. I'm not sure how the Yamaha shift linkage works but this may be a job for the dealer. I know my old 25 Mercury shift linkage was pretty complicated as the shift and throttle were all in one. |

And another possible part number 65W-W0078-Z0-4D $400 to $500. |

It would be cheaper to find a tiller engine or convert your boat to side steering than converting that to a tiller. |

Tohsgib is correct: the tiller will cost you about( 65W-W0084-01-4D, Steering Handle Assy $310.70 boats.net plus shipping), the side cable controls will cost about $35 for the kit, You can get the kit from the same, It would be cheaper to keep the engine with the side cable controls you need to set up a steering helm however, but still cheaper and probably safer.. |

Oh, but a tiller is so much fun. I really miss it. |

Yeah for about an hour until your arm starts to fatigue. I love tiollers but I am not thrilled about using them for any extent of time. |
