I am three months late with notice of this news, but I just became aware of it most recently when I received an email on this topic. In early December of 2010 the Brunswick corporation announced that Timothy M. Sheik was appointed to the position of president of Boston Whaler boats, succeeding John Ward.

Mr. Sheik was formerly the president of Brunswick boat builder HarrisKayot of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, as well as simultaneously vice president and general manager of pontoon and deckboats for the Freshwater Boat Group of Brunswick. HarrisKayot is a leading builder of high-end pontoons from 20 to 25 feet, as well as high-quality runabouts and deckboats from 20 to 26 feet in length.

More recently Mr. Sheik was president of Brunswick Boat Group's fiberglass fish boat businesses, specifically the Triton and Trophy brands. Mr. Sheik holds a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh, and an MBA from Marquette University in Milwaukee. He will be relocating to Florida from near Chicago, Illinois and Brunswick headquarters there.

Mr. Ward has been appointed to the newly created position of senior vice president of global sales and marketing for the Hatteras and Cabo boats division in New Bern, North Carolina.

Coming with oodles of pontoon experience and the plus of Trophy knowledge should prove to be a huge boon for Whaler.
