I'm sure he's getting a lot responses from BW owners just wanting to give their boats away. I paid more than that for my kayak! |

I was just going to post this and saw it here. I had to laugh when I read it.It does make me wonder where NADA comes up with the numbers they have. We all would love to get a Whaler neard the NADA prices but I don't think we'll see too many of them |

I did email him. I asked him to let me know if he finds any in that price range that he doesn't want to buy. He never wrote back so I guess he doesn't want to help anyone else. |

So if a BW seller can get a higher price from another buyer, the owner is to sell to this guy at a lower price because... |

Sounds like the same kind of guy that's looking for a job, He could only find one job that would pay him $10.00 an hour, but he only want $7.00 so he told them he did not want the job... |

I was going to say that guy's an idiot. But he's actually not. He's just uneducated. He hasn't done the appropriate research to know what the value of the boats he's interested are actually worth. A tan-hull 13' Whaler with a running engine and road-legal trailer will generally command somewhere north of $3,000 in just about any market.I sent him an email educating him on NADA values and how they don't include trailers, engines, equipment, and how the data is skewed by people trying to avoid sales tax. But I doubt it'll make a difference to him. He wants a 31' Whaler and only has $1,500 to spend. Bottom line is, he isn't going to find it. |

Sorry, meant to say 13' Whaler. LOL. He's have a REAL hard time finding a 31' Whaler for $1,500. |

You could find a 31' Whaler for $1,500 at a fire sale, or rather, after a fire sale. |

I would not say he is an idiot. I would say he is not going to generate one call that he is expecting. I have bought a couple Whalers by putting an ad on CL. I was not as abrassive as this person of course. Good thing about it is only a local will see it and most likely it is not on the market so you might get lucky...I did.Funny how things "can" work out. My friend saw a 17' sport local in the paper for $4k. He went and looked at it and the boat was really nice but had been sitting(in a garage) for a few years and carbs were clogged, etc. He offered $2k and wrote it down. I told him "good luck" if ya know what I mean. He just got the call to come get it a week or so later. The guy was off to the Dr's after he looked at it. They amitted him to the hospital for some reason. No answering machine so when he was released yesterday he called my friend who wrote down the offer and his number. Talk about being in the right spot at the right time. |

I'm pretty sure this is our old buddy Greg Olson, trolling for Whaler Onwers, as he frequently does. Shortly after sending my email, I started getting calls from him again. |
