[West Marine] are now building a West Marine Super Store in Ft Lauderdale at Andrews and Marina Blvd, to be open in the late fall. The construction site is huge and I think the area will support the store. Also will be a lot easier to get to the store around the block on US 1.

West Marine in Portland has always been over priced but they carry things that are sometimes hard to find, good location and I live with that.

With that in mind, last week I purchased a dozen Cole Hersey toggle switches for several boat projects from West Marine @ $12.99 ea. A week later I found BETTER quality CH Marine switches at Englund Marine (primary focus is fishing supplies) for $8.15 ea.

Large Igloo coolers were selling for $129 at West Marine. The same size, the top was a little different, is selling for $89 @ Walmart right now.

I asked the Marine Paint pro's at Englund Marine to compare Awl Grip, Gel Coat, West System and they recommended Americoat epoxies. I used Americoat, indoors, vented, without any problems, great results.

The area around Ft. Lauderdale has some really big marine stores. It is not a surprise that WEST MARINE would have a big store in that area. When visiting there it was always amazing to see how many boats are kept in that area.
