So, I was anchored out on my 42 foot Grand Banks trawler over the wreck of the Andrea Doria three days ago, sitting between dives, and was listening to Channel 16 as I usually do. All of a sudden we heard the USCG replying to a mariner calling with a report of an "Unmanned Boston Whaler" which was reported to be running in circles south of the Jamestown Bridge in Narragansett Bay RI. I could not hear the other half of the conversation (we were nearly 100 miles offshore), but from the USCG replies it was obvious that one person had been picked up out of the water, none were missing, and the boat was continuing to circle at high speed. Never heard any more. Just a note... wear that lanyard. Dave .
