During the past three days I was able to take several groups of family and friends out of Dana point Harbor in Southern California to enjoy the boat, calm seas and the wildlife.

I have found that the Cetaceans always love to run with my Whalers. As an offshore fisherman we have enjoyed many an encounter with them and their larger cousins the whales.

These trips we exceptional in that during each run we viewed Grey Whales up close and personal within 15 feet of the boat.

Below is a link to a little clip of a run in we had with a fun group that included adults training their young how to enjoy the bow wake of a Whaler Vigilant.

That is an excellent video of your dolphin encounter.

When I am crossing over to the Channel Islands I go out of my way to locate a pod of dolphin. We turn in the same direction that they are heading and throttle back to 10-15 knots.

I have those passengers, that have not had a close encounter with dolphin, sit forward and look down over the bow.
They are thrilled watching the dolphin rising up within an arms reach. It is certain to turn adults back in to children for a brief time.

All the best

Bill
