I recently picked up a 22' Donzi classic in Orange Beach. There were 2 Montauks at my friend's condo under the condo next to each other. There were another 2 on the premises'. I saw at LEAST another 1/2 dozen while I was there overnight. The next day I ran into a guy from LA with a Optimax on one that was not starting. My point is...it is a great boating area. Outside of Barnegat Bay, NJ I have NEVER seen that many Montauks in one area in my life. I passed more Whalers on my 1100+ mile trip than I can count. Great to see that and would like to know why. Is the panhandle that great of a place for the Montauk like the bays of NJ? We have many Whalers in Tampa Bay but not the classic 17' contingency of the panhandle I saw....impressive. Would be a great place to be a buyer as well....too far for me though.

Did you tow it with a Liberty diesel? How did it tow on such a long drive? MPG? |

Welcome to our world. You out to see the Montauks on lifts in all our rivers: Fish, Fowl and Dog. They are everywhere. |
