I too have had issues when pulling inflatables behind my whaler - the stern eyes are low enough that the tow rope ends up dragging in the water to the point that the side-to-side action everyone wants when tubing is diminished, and the tube can have a tendency to submarine in a most unpleasant fashion for the riders.

I have seen the posts on the Turboswing, but wanted to post about an alternative that is one-tenth the cost that works really well for us.

Basically it is a giant football shaped float in the middle of the tow line. It keeps the line out of the water and allows great "action" when tubing. Works even better than I could have hoped.

I'm sure it would be possible to fabricate your own device which would serve the same purpose...I may work on that and let you know what I find. You sort of answered a question that I was going to post....

Where do you tow a tube from a Whaler? Those eyes on the stern looked perfect to me but I didn't want to break them off mid flight. Sail. :)

Among other things, those stern eyes are meant to act as pick points for lifting the hull....Watersports / Towing are not going to hurt them.
