Does anyone have any experience with using a swingback seat on an Outrage 18? Does anyone preferences/dislikes when it comes to the brands available? They are usually marketed for pontoon boats, but I did see a pic of one on an Outrage 18 that peaked my interest due to the dry storage available underneath it.

I currently have two seats mounted on pedestals on my boat. Here is the link to the pics I saw of the swingback seat, that got me interested and looking for opinions on this option...

I have had the twin captains chairs on my Outrage and RPS's on both of my 17's. I personally like the OEM RPS (reversible pilot seat) the best for it's looks and it's function. Flip it forward and use it like a leaning post and flip it back for the bench seat.

While it is just my opinion but, I will say DO NOT install a cheap crappy looking Todd flip back seat in your Whaler. They always look so poor and cheapen the overall appearance of a Classic Whaler. If you want a flip back seat wait it out and find an OEM RPS for your Whaler. Or, the other option is to get a knock off RPS from Specialty Marine. While Specialty's is not truly built to the OEM Whaler specs it looks a helluva lot better than the Todd.

I bought the $300 swingback seat from discount marine, very happy with my purchase. I was on special at that time this summer with $9 shipping, so it was the best deal out there at that time, may still be.

I have a complete stainless Whaler flip back seat.
The same one that came O.E.M. in the 16' Dauntless.
It fits a 72 QT cooler, that serves as the seat.
I will be selling it in December, as I am going to have a seat fabricated.
