The film maker Warren Miller use to say, the key requirement to try this type of stunt is to have an IQ that does not exceed your hat size.

My first reaction was: this could not happen in the US.
Then I realized it happened in the South (Alabama) where personal responsibility is still (mostly) respected and common sense rules - i.e. if you wanna kill yerself, well sir, go right ahead...
A couple years ago, there was a story about a cop that was trying to arrest a guy for surfing big waves in his boat alongside a pier. Remember that? I believe it was discussed here on this site.
Sadly, liberty is becoming a thing of the past in this great nation because if these knuckleheads died, for sure someone would sue the state park for allowing them to kayak on these falls (even if it were already illegal).
My ultimate reaction to the video is "awesome". Something I might have tried when I was in college, for sure. I'd have smelly pants for the rest of the day, but I might have tried it...

Although impressive and at the same time crazy, this is by no means the top end of kayaking over big falls. If anyone wants video clips let me know. At a certain level it is skill, but got the big drops it is largely chance......and plenty of Darwinian evolution.
