Recently I notice that many links to images hosted on the PHOTOBUCKET.COM website lead to very small, very low resolution images. I believe that this is a change implemented at PHOTOBUCKET, and the small size images are just thumbnails of larger, higher-resolution images. How does one get past the thumbnails to see the better images? Here is an example of the problem: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v333/macfam/?action=view& current=E-TEC5.jpg |

Jim, this was mentioned on another site as well. I think it's pointing your browser to a mobile site of Photobucket. Why might you ask? My theory is that the pages on the Photobucket website query your device to see if you are fullsize or mobile. For some reason it thinks you're on a mobile device and points you to the thumbnails. I'm guessing it's either a programming error at Photobucket or your browser is returning a result to their query that is not expected. I'm using Firefox and clicked on your link; it resolved to a fullsize picture. Did the URL (address bar) show something like .wap in the name? If so, you're looking at the mobile site. freeportd |

It pulls it full size for me as well. I have noticed if the address is as follows it pulls the image open for me in full resolution. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v333/macfam/?action=view& current=E-TEC5.jpg
http://mmg.photobucket.com/albums/v333/macfam/?action=view& current=E-TEC5.jpg At which time I have to scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on View Full Site. |

Nope, Full size on a white background field. |

Your no charge Photobucket account, but I just post the picture's address, not the whole album. It is a camera upload, a phone might be different. John |

When you end up in Smart Phone mode on Photobucket, click the small link at the bottom indicating "Full screen". |

JMARTIN's link works fine. I see an 800x600 image. The link I posted goes to a thumbnail image, about 100x100. If I click on the "View Full Website" link it leads to a generic page. I wonder if the website is changing the presentation based on the browser. I am using SAFARI, and perhaps it thinks that is a mobile device browser. The link I initially gave is redirected to a different link, with the "mmg" prefix. |

I was experiencing the same thing as Jim and, during the construction of a post stating as much, I clicked the first link again to get some more info. Incredibly, when I clicked the link this time from the Post Reply window, the image was presented full sized by Photobucket, and was repeatable. Thank goodness, I was prepared to abandon any future Photobucket links. |

I experienced the same problem for a short while. It began when I clicked on a link to a mobile-sized photo in the "Favorite Whaler related Photographs of 2011" thread. The link, which was posted by DeeVee, was as follows: http://m33.photobucket.com/albumview/albums/DougV_/photo.jpg.html?o=0& newest=1#pb_complete . After clicking that link, every photobucket.com link that I clicked on returned a "mobile-sized" picture. I cured the problem by simply clicking the "View full website" link at the bottom of the page for one of the mobile-sized pictures. It seems that if you click on a link to a mobile-sized picture, photobucket.com will continue to treat you as a mobile device user until you "switch back" to viewing the full site. |

Kevin--Thanks. That fixed the problem. The stupid website must be setting some sort of cookie that you prefer small images. This has been driving me nuts for several weeks. |

I am having the same problem and it's really bugging me. How does one get out of the "mobile" section? When I try the link for the full websit, I just get an initial screen. This all started for me when I posted some pictures to photobucket from my phone. Ever since then I get this stupid mobile crap. Doug |

Doug - after clicking the "View full website" link, I also get the generic log-in screen. But once I've seen that generic log-in screen, I'm able to view pictures in the normal size. If that doesn't work for you, you might want to try logging out of your photobucket.com account on your desktop or laptop and your mobile device, and then try the "View full website" maneuver on your desktop or laptop. |

Try flushing out the cache of stored pages, or "temporary internet content." |

It looks like photobucket is storing a cookie indicating the use of the smaller images. After I deleted the photobucket cookies I got the larger images. |

John Martin's picture comes trough just fine. So do Buckda's engine lifting pictures. I think I emptied the cache. Where would the photo-bucket cookies be found? Con |

If you are using Chrome or Internet Explorer, pressing ctrl-shift-del will allow you to clear cookies. |

I found Safari cookie jar under preferences and dumped Photobucket then had to click on "view full site" and the little pictures are now bigger. Thanks. Con |
