Just out of curiosity, I am wondering what people pay for their fuel among our Global Forum, since I noticed already for a long time that the US based forum members occasionally complain about the local fuel pricing, and the same applies for Europeans on this site.

Let's compare who is getting the most for their money:

In The Netherlands we pay the following premium price.....

Our pricing is in EURO and it is at the moment just raised up to Record Level of EURO 1,75 per Liter.

1 Liter = 0.264172052637296 Gallons
1 Gallon = 3,785411779999999 Liter x EURO 1,75 = 6,624470614999998 Euro per Gallon.

Conversion today Euro to US Dollar is 1 EUR=1,268 US Dollar

So 6,624470614999998 Euro/Gallon x 1,268 = 8,399828739819997 US Dollar per Gallon

So basically to answer my question,.......
WE PAY 8,40 US Dollar per Gallon of regular fuel which contains 95 RON/ Octane.

WONDER WHAT YOU PAY TO MAKE A NICE BOATING DAY........

Almost four dollars per gallon for gasoline and about $4.35 for diesel here in Northern California. Highest in the USA, Jorgen, which is very annoying since we have a refinery in the city of Richmond, ten miles from San Francisco. Still, not quite as expensive as Europe...yet.

Recently in Ft Lauderdale regular E-10 at the gas station was $3.35/gal. On the water at local Marinas, the price for Ethanol Free was $4.60. At that price, I'll take a pass on the pure gasoline if possible to fill E-10 on the trailer, simply not worth the money to me.

Crude & gasoline go up as the value of a currency goes down.
With the European debt crisis, the Euro is getting weak, so it figures that the pirce of fuel will go up over there.

Here in central NJ $3.19 a gallon for regular E10 for gas station fuel - about a dollor more a gallon on the water.

In Baghdad, Iraq, a measly 5 cents a gallon.

In Venezuela gas is only 12 cents a gallon because that country's government controls production and keeps gas tax-free as a service to its citizens.

I was in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia 2 months ago, a Gallon of regular cost US Dollar 0,40.......

That is for sure supported by their government since the production cost must be double of that.....

I paid $4.60 at Shilshole Marina on Thursday. That's more than $1.00 more per gallon than I'd typically pay in the Seattle area on the road.

It's not boating season here in Minnesota, but at the gas station closest to my house, gas is $3.13 per gallon. Diesel is $3.75 per gallon.

Our fuel prices always rise in the summer, usually right around Memorial Day. What it will be this year is anyone's guess.

Marinas usually charge about $1.25 more than land-based stations.

About a month ago, premium was €1.40/liter at a random petrol station near the airport in Munich, Germany. It was about €1.49/liter a few days later, in Nice, France. I'll be in Paris, first week of February and report back. I'm not sure if the gasoline in Western Europe is ethanol-free or not.

How about who has the most tax on their gasoline?

I'll go first.

1/13/12 Opis Average Anancortes/Ferndale WA
87 Octane 10% Unleaded gasoline 2.739

State and Federal Super Funds .0353
Federal Excise Tax + .001 .184
Washington State Motor Fuel tax .375
Washington State B&O tax .0132

Total tax .6075 per gallon.

For some reason, the commodity pros are saying gas on the road will be very close to $5.00/gallon this summer. That would make it really bad at the marinas, and bad for boating in general.

Broadly generalizing here, but gas stations would like to make on average about .20 cents per gallon and marinas a dollar more than that. With a fuel price of 3.40 a gallon and you pay on a credit card, the fee would be about .07 cents. Now the station is making .13 cents. That is why you are seeing more and more multiple pricing cash/credit/company prices at some stations.

Arco and Chevron have recently started posting two prices up here in Washington State.

Bear in mind that Jorgen's 95 octane is Research Octane. The
octane we see on the pumps here in the US is Pump Octane which
is the average of Research Octane and Motor Octane. According
to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octane_rating the
motor octane number is typically 8-10 points below the
research octane number, the pump octane number would be 4-5
points lower, or 90-91. That would be pretty much US premium
gas.

Currently we are paying 1.31 per liter here in Nova Scotia. And our gallon is 4.54 liters as comapred to the US gallon. So in US gallons we pay $ 4.95 per gallon.

When I was in Ireland in the Spring of 2011 I was buy gasoline on the highway at about US$8/US-Gallon. When I was in Canada in the Summer of 2011 I was buying gasoline at marina fuel docks for about US$6/US-Gallon.

I recently bought gasoline on the highway in Michigan for $2.57/gallon using a $1 discount earned through a points system. That is the least expensive gasoline I have bought in a long time. The current price on the highway for 87-Octane Ethanol-Gasoline blended fuel is about $3.70/gallon.

I just bought gas in Belize at about $6US/gallon. Some guys out on an island told me they pay closer to $10 for their boat gas... probably mostly because it is remote.

Gas in Venezuela is basically free*.

*at the pump. It is heavily subsidized.
