I'd like to purchase a cover for my 150 Super Sport for when it's not being used in or out of the water, so I'm assuming it'll need to be the drawstring type. Any suggestions/recommendations on brand, place to purchase, etc.? Let me know.

Thanks in advance,

Greg

Other opinions will surface here.
I have had great success with the OEM, Mill's Canvas. Will you pay more........probably. However, quality is excellent and fit is perfect. Another plus is the "gunwale clips" that are an exclusive from Mills. It also has a drawstring to keep tight. These tops last for years and years with just a yearly touch-up spray of 303 water repellent.

Go to www.millscanvas.com and take a look at Boston Whaler canvas. Give a phone call to see if they have one available with a blemish, for a discounted price.
I don't recommend towing the boat with cover on. But parked on a trailer, or on a mooring, they are fantastic.

Oops!
I didn't realize your boat is a post-classic. Mills is not the OEM for the more modern Whalers.
Give them a try anyway.

Try Carver Industries in SC. http://www.carvercovers.com.
or 1-888-48COVER. I bought one for my 1987 18' Outrage
three years ago. Very well made (USA) and a reasonable price.

Just an addendum to my earlier reply. Mine is not a drawstring. If you call, make sure to mention you want a drawstring.

Post-Classic OEM Boston Whaler canvas is made by http://www.greatlakesboattop.com/ although I don't see they offer a cover for your model.

Depending on your budget you can either get a generic cover from Taylor http://www.taylormadeproducts.com/catalog/ or have a custom fit cover made at your local canvas shop.

Try E-Bay and I personally would stick with Sunbrella fabric. All Sunbrella is the same so you don't have to worry about quality in that area.

GRB,
The Mills site lists Boston Whaler "15" Super Sport from 2009.
I assume they mean "150" if they are talking 2009.
They, in fact, might have the patterns for what you need.

Spoke to Mills, very nice lady (can't remember her name though). Any rate, she quoted me close to $1K for a cover which is much more than I want to spend, especially because the boat will be in an enclosed carport except weekends, which is when I would need/use a cover.

I'll keep looking, although I'm having trouble finding one for the model/year.

Whew! Almost $1,000!

Threads of gold!

The seagulls in my area have no idea what they're crapping on!

That $1K price did include sunbrella material, motor cover and shipping, but still too much gringa for me.

Have you tried E-Bay or Cabellas, Overtons, etc like I mentoned above? I think you can buy a good cover FOR YOUR NEEDS for $400 or less, custom made for $600+.

Tohsgib,

I've tried all sites suggested/recommended in the replies to my post. The problem I'm having is the newer model/model year. I've found covers for 15 Sports, but not newer 2011 and 2012 150 Super Sports. So I'm not certain that those covers will fit. I don't want to go through internet return shipping fees, re-stocking fees, etc. either.

The only place I've found so far is Mills, and I'm not dropping $1K

The search continues.

Greg,

I also recommend Carver Industries covers. I've owned two, one for a 16 Dauntless and a second for my 190 Montauk.

They are about as good a fit as a custom cover and are well constructed. There are color and material choices to suit. Mine have been outside at all times and my boats are always covered unless in use or being cleaned or maintained.

Customer service is good. You can call the toll free number for advice. There are cheaper covers available but Carver represents good value. Check them out. A couple of URLs for your convenience are: carvercovers.com and, for a good vendor discountboatcover.com.
