Finally completed the restoration of my second Guardian (TPSB 25') after 15 months of work. Launched today in 15 - 20 knot winds and rain. Not ideal, but I did not want to wait another day. Photos of the boat in the shop one hour before launch are posted on photobucket. http://s1228.photobucket.com/albums/ee444/koyota1/Guardian%2025%20TPSB/ |

I am thinking you could sell that one back to the Government... Great Job! A .50 bolted on the front would be impressive and no one would be messing you at the dock! LOL |

Tell us more...what was your fuel economy? How fast does it go? |

The trial was done in 2-3' seas with 15 - 20 kt winds. Top speed in those conditions was 40kts using about 21 gph. My other Guardian with twin Mercs. has done 43kts. |

Nice job, looks great. One question... The cage around the back of the motor is there to protect it right? Do you leave it in a slip at a marina?? (you have bottom paint on so I presume it will be) Is that cage a problem back there? (for me, I fish. So trolling and dropping lines straight down would be an interesting challenge) Again, boat looks like it rolled out of the showroom floor. Enjoy many years with her. |

It should be TPSB Transportable Port Security Boat. Here is a complete PDF of the Coast Guard's Boston Whaler 25' TPSB Owners Manual I have. Download File Or Google Document viewer |

Jeff the handbook is almost as cool as koyota's boat. You have to love the section on the weapon systems on board. |

I still have the 50 cal. gun mount in my garage. There was a lot of aluminum in the decks and across the beam to support the guns. |

There is a demilled M2 .50 caliber machine gun for sale just a couple of miles from me. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=273066839 I was looking at it last weekend. They are quite rare. |

Response to Tom976's question: The bars across the back serves two purposes. The first is as a crash bar to protect the motor and the stern of the boat. The other purpose is for towing another boat. The tow line goes from the modified samson's post at the aft of the boat, over the rail, and then to the vessel being towed. I'll be using the boat frequently for my volunteer work with the Coast Guard Auxiliary. |

Thanks for the clarification on the acronym. I though it was an old disco song or group (TSOP by MFSB). |
